This is more like it! I didn't get a chance to get back to the tangles until tonight. After an hour or two I got it straightened out and started weaving. I only had one thread pop on me so I consider myself lucky.
Watching the colors interlace and the design building never fails to delight me. The magic continues when I take a peak from the side.

Posted by: Anne at October 27, 2006 12:24 AMYour favorite blanket, double weave. I aim to weave one again. Remember the wool I bought at Webs? Now to find the time. I love the colors, Char. Can I expect this for Christmas?

"only ... one thread pop" -- enough to make *me* burst into tears! Argh. I just don't have the patience for tricky warps.

Posted by: Kim at October 27, 2006 06:36 AMVery cool.....very cool indeed.
Posted by: Cheryl at October 27, 2006 08:34 AMNothing like a fresh new warp, evenly tensioned and ready to go! The blanket looks so cozy!
Posted by: Valerie at October 27, 2006 08:38 AMIt took me a minute to realize what I was looking at from the side: double-weave, cool!
Posted by: Sara at October 27, 2006 10:11 AMCharlene,
Couldn't find an e-mail address to thank you for the great pics of double weave and the photos on warping your loom. I also have a 40" Macomber so I was interested on how you approached it. I had a Glimakra 8 years ago, and I used sticks from beam to beam on that as well, but had forgotten that, so thanks for the reminder. I am just returning to weaving after as many years...oh yes and the binder rings, you have helped me to remember quite a few things, Thanks again
Carol
When life actually slows down slightly for both of us (only slightly - any more would need miracles beyond my capability) I need to come up and have you show me how this works. I can simply not get my very simple head around this concept. I mean I can understand that it is possible, but not the mechanics.
Posted by: Kim at October 27, 2006 05:15 PMYum! Reminds me of pumpkin pie, autumn leaves, the smell of woodsmoke in the air -- C O Z Y !
How lovely, and what a great reward to see it taking shape after your "knotty" start.
You go girl!
Cheers,
Jane
Such a great Fall color combo. So you :)
Posted by: claudia k at October 28, 2006 08:47 AMLooking good! The autumn colours are wonderful. And so is getting out all of those tangles. I put on a warp once that looked like my loom had the flu. Not a pretty picture.
